The difference between welded steel pipe and seamless steel pipe

1. Different materials

1. Welded steel pipe: Welded steel pipe refers to a steel strip or steel plate that is bent and deformed into a circle, shape, etc., and then welded into a steel pipe with seams on the surface. The blank used for welded steel pipe is steel plate or strip steel.

2. Seamless steel pipe: A steel pipe made of a single piece of metal without seams on the surface is called a seamless steel pipe.

Second, the use is different.

1. Welded steel pipes: can be used as water and gas pipes, etc., large-diameter straight seam welded pipes are used for high-pressure oil and gas transportation, etc.; spiral welded pipes are used for oil and gas transportation, pipe piles, bridge piers, etc.

2. Seamless steel pipe: used as petroleum geological drilling pipe, cracking pipe for the petrochemical industry, boiler pipe, bearing pipe, and high-precision structural steel pipe for automobile, tractor, and aviation.

Three, different classification

1. Welded steel pipe: According to different welding methods, it can be divided into arc welded pipe, high frequency or low-frequency resistance welded pipe, gas welded pipe, furnace welded pipe, Bondi pipe, etc. According to the application, it is divided into general welded pipe, galvanized welded pipe, oxygen is blown welded pipe, wire casing, metric welded pipe, idler pipe, deep well pump pipe, automobile pipe, transformer pipe, electric welding thin-walled pipe, electric welding special-shaped pipe, and spiral welded pipe.

2. Seamless steel pipe: seamless pipe is divided into hot-rolled pipe, cold-rolled pipe, cold-drawn pipe, extruded pipe, pipe jacking, etc. According to the cross-sectional shape, the seamless steel pipe is divided into two types: round and special-shaped.

The maximum diameter is 650mm, and the minimum diameter is 0.3mm. Depending on the application, there are thick-walled and thin-walled pipes.
